2. Who sets cookies?
- First-party cookies are set by BaseballFantasy directly.
- Third-party cookies are set by service providers we use — for example, our analytics provider, error monitoring provider, payment processor, and content delivery network. These third parties may use cookies to recognize your device across different websites where their service is embedded.
3. How long do cookies last?
- Session cookies are temporary and are deleted when you close your browser.
- Persistent cookies remain on your device for a set period of time or until you delete them manually. We use persistent cookies for purposes such as remembering your login, language, and accessibility preferences.
4. Categories of cookies we use
4.1 Strictly necessary cookies
These cookies are essential for the Service to function and cannot be switched off. They include cookies that authenticate you, keep you signed in, maintain your shopping/credit basket, secure your session against cross-site request forgery, balance traffic across our servers, and honor your security and privacy preferences. The Service will not work properly without them.
4.2 Functional cookies
These cookies allow the Service to remember choices you make and provide enhanced, more personal features — for example, your language, time zone, region, theme (light/dark), and recently viewed leagues, players, or contests.
4.3 Performance and analytics cookies
These cookies help us count visits and traffic sources, understand which pages are most and least popular, and see how visitors move around the Service. The information collected is aggregated and statistical. If you do not allow these cookies, we will not know when you have visited and will be less able to monitor performance.
4.4 Security and fraud-prevention cookies
These cookies help us detect malicious activity, prevent fraud, protect contests against multi-accounting and collusion, and protect your account against unauthorized access.
4.5 Advertising cookies
We do not currently use advertising or cross-context behavioral advertising cookies on the Service. If that changes in the future, we will update this Policy and ask for your consent where required by law.
6. Third parties that may set cookies
We work with a limited set of trusted third-party service providers that may set cookies on your device when you use the Service, including:
- Cloud hosting and content delivery providers (for performance and security);
- Analytics providers (for aggregated usage statistics);
- Error-monitoring providers (for crash reports and debugging);
- Payment processors (for completing transactions and fraud screening);
- Authentication providers (if you sign in using a third-party single sign-on).
Each of these providers has its own privacy and cookies practices, which we encourage you to review.
7. How to manage cookies
7.1 In-product preference center
Where required by law, we display a cookie banner the first time you visit the Service and offer a preference center in your Account Settings where you can grant or withdraw consent to non- essential cookies. Your preference is stored and respected across sessions.
7.2 Browser controls
Most browsers allow you to view, delete, and block cookies. The method varies by browser:
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data.
- Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data.
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data.
- Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Manage and delete cookies and site data.
Please note: if you block strictly necessary cookies, the Service will not function correctly. You may not be able to sign in, build lineups, or enter contests.
7.3 Mobile devices
Mobile operating systems provide controls to limit ad tracking and reset advertising identifiers. On iOS, see Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking and Settings → Privacy & Security → Apple Advertising. On Android, see Settings → Privacy → Ads.
7.4 Opt-out lists
For advertising-related cookies generally (we do not use these today, but for completeness): NAI opt-out, DAA opt-out, and Your Online Choices (EU).
8. Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track
We honor recognized Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals in jurisdictions where required by law, treating them as an opt-out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. Because we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, GPC signals do not change our handling of cookies today.
We do not currently respond to the legacy "Do Not Track" browser signal.
9. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Cookies Policy from time to time to reflect changes in technology, applicable laws, or how we use cookies. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where required by law, ask for your renewed consent.
